Mario rechtstreeks naar de eerste positie.

De eerste verkoopweek van New Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan is succesvol verlopen: iets meer dan 400.000 games werden in de eerste week verkocht. Mario's goudjacht legt Nintendo geen windeieren. De introductie van de Nintendo 3DS XL (of LL zoals deze in Japan heet) verliep ook goed en opvallend genoeg hadden de verkopen van de normale Nintendo 3DS er nauwelijks onder te lijden in vergelijking met vorige week.
